I just got this & it's actually a motorhome. The heater blower doesn't come on at any speed. I checked the resistor block & the motor itself. There's no 12V+ coming to the motor. In the power distribution box there's a 50A fuse for the blower & cigar lighter, that fuse is good & the lighter works. There's another fuse in there for "modified vehicle power feeds" 50A, that fuse was blown. Replaced it & still no blower. I bought the Haynes manual & they mention a relay, but I can't find it. Haynes says it's in the engine compartment fusebox but it isn't. Everything else seems to work on this except teh blower. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Replace the blower. The blower is hot (12v) all the time and the switch is on the ground side. If you check the connector you *should* see 12v on one side. I didn't in my '92 when the blower motor died. I put in a new blower and all was well again. There is also a relay for the blower it should be in the power box under the hood.
I'll try hotwiring the blower later today after the temp soars above 20. There is no hot (12V+) coming to the blower connector. There are 3 relays in the power dist. box, according to the owner's manual they're ABS, fuel relay & EEC.
I went out today & hotwired the blower, it works fine with battery voltage direct. Is there a switch on the selector lever that could be bad or loose? Thanks.
There is a relay that may be bad. Just because you hotwired the blower doesn't mean that there isn't a problem upstream. The switch COULD be bad, the connector at the switch could be bad.
Well, I'm 100% sure that there is, in fact, a problem upstream. I hotwired the blower to eliminate that as the cause of the problem. I had assumed the blower was good since there was no complete 12VDC circuit coming to it, but hotwired it just to make sure. The haynes manual does not have a heater curcuit diagram. I'd just like to know where exactly to look for the blower relay, since the 3 relays in the power distribution box (aka under hood fusebox) do not appear to be for the blower.
Look around the fender by the blower. It's been a while since I looked at one as I sold my '92 about 5 years ago. I do know that there is a relay somewhere. It may even be in the dash.
Solved! The relay in question is located inside the driver's side fender, for the future reference of anyone else that may need to know. There are 2 mounted there & it's the one on the right. Thanks for helping to point me in the right direction.
Not a problem. The more you checked and replied it more is sounded like the relay died, so I kept pushing the issue. Sorry if I came off rude at all. Glad you go it fixed. I wound up driving for almost a week 45 minutes one way to work everyday with NO heat because my blower motor died. That was not fun.
I have an intermittent problem with the heater blower on my ‘99 E-350 (7.3L Diesel). Some times it blows and sometimes it does not. It seems to decide whether it is going to blow or not when I start the van. If it doesn’t blow there is nothing I can do to get it to blow. If it does blow I try to make sure that I don’t change any of the settings just to make sure it keeps blowing. However, I have changed fan speeds and applications (vent, floor, mix, defrost) with out any problems once it is blowing. Also the fan doesn’t seem to blow very hard when it does blow. The heat is hot. I would think that a vehicle this size would have a big powerful blower motor.
I doubt that it is connected but I’ve recently also lost my high beams (first the left side then a few days later the right side).
Where should I look? Does this sound like the same relay problem?
I wouldn't think the blower on your van would be any different than any other van. The relay I replaced only cost like $12, but if you can get it to fail then check for 12VDC at the blower connector. If it's not there, then maybe try replacing the relay. Good luck.

I didn’t notice any relays in that area. All I saw was:
1) Coolant overflow reservoir.
2) A large electrical box (under the overflow) Marked “CAUTION SHOCK HASARD“. It is about 6 inches wide by 9 inches long and 1-2 inches thick. It is mounted right to the inner fender.
3) The power distribution box (all fuses are good)
4) An electrical connection box marked “ALT + “.
5) The power steering fluid reservoir.
When I’m looking for a relay I’m looking for a small box with wires running into it about an inch or two square and two or three inches long.
Also:
I noticed a plug going into a box directly behind the battery I am assuming that this is the connector to the blower motor. (I think that it had about four wires in it.) Is that the blower plug?
The blower motor should have 2 wires going to it. It's possible the connector you're seeing (4 wires) is for the resistor block. The relay in mine was about 1inch square. Maybe check your owner's manual for the details on the power distribution box, maybe the relay is in there.
