So, i have broken the little loop at the bottom of my keyless entry remote. Is this something that i can get replaced anywhere or am i going to have to turn over my left arm at the dealership for a replacement. As annoying as it is, it still works but i would rather it be on my keys instead of loose in my pocket.
As a matter of fact, this is a serious thread. I didnt know so i asked, isnt that what the whole idea of this site is. And no, im not a drunk frat guy with a bunch of his buddies, im actually serving YOU and OUR country in the military. No need to be an ***...
I've fixed a few with JB weld - just need to be careful not to weld the two halves together, then drill a new hole. Otherwise I have seen cases for different fobs at various stores or you can try the dealer for a new case.
you can replace the "key fob" at the dealer, or a cheaper route would be Ebay. They're very easy to program, just follow the instructions in your owners manual.
Just being a wise *** tonight....thank you for your service.....send me an email with your address and ill order one for you and have it shipped to you....its the least I can do in return for what you have done....
I tried JB weld and it didn't hold. I got used to the fob being separate because I didn't feel like paying $35-55 for a new one. I eventually replaced the RS because that remote went through the washing machine too many times, and a $220 RS with a 2way remote seemed better than buying $90 worth of old remotes.
I'd suggest looking into a RS/Alarm, it can give you some options.
Did you try the plastic weld from JB? They have sooo many different ones....
Another option is to ask your dealer who they have put in aftermarket alarm, keyless entry, etc. Ask those folks, it would be cheaper that letting the dealer have their cut of the pie.
x2 on the ebay route. These can be had all day long for under $20 on ebay and as stated they are easy to program. Or, you could just snap them apart and put the guts outta yours in the new case. I definitely wouldn't go to the dealer on this one.
You can find replacement cases for the remotes. I have seen these at the mall kiosks. I bet these are on eBay. There is a carbon fiber version that looks great.
