I just got back from another 360 mile round trip. I had my second regen again on the way down. My first was at 385 miles and my last one was at about 860 miles. So it looks like with my current winter driving conditions I am looking at about 425 miles between regens. It sure cuts into the mileage. If it wasn't for the regens I would be averaging about 17 highway. My round trip today came in at 15.9 mpg hand calculated. It would have been a little better but just when my regen should have been just about done I had to stop at an intersection to change highways. I think it caused it to start over as I was in regen almost 30 minutes this time and last time it was around 15 minutes.
How are you guys in warmer climates doing with frequency of regens? Are they less often when it is warm out? BTW I have the latest flash as I have a November build 09.
Mine seem to be about the same as you. On a 350 mile trip last week, I had one regen. I reset the mpg indicator immediately after the regen and got 17 mpg for the remainder of the trip. The regen significantly reduces the mpg when it happens.
Mine came on for the first time that I noticed at around 500 miles? Right now I have 604 on the odometer. I guess the dealer installed the latest computer updates before I took delivery because it showed the exhaust clean message in the DIC for about 10 minutes it seemed. My truck is a 4/08 build.
Today I got my first cleaning exhaust message. I bought my truck in Aug. of 07 and had the reflash done last Friday. As soon as my truck displayed the message I reset my mpg on the drivers infromation center and checked it again when it was done cleaning. It read 10.2 for the 20 minutes it was cleaning I then reset it again and my mpg went up to 22.3 after regen and then setteled down to 20.1 15 miles later at the end of my trip. I was out on the highway driving 60 mph with an outside temp of +9 in northern Minnesota. My truck has a different shifting pattern (auto) since the reflesh and I'm not sure I like it. 60mph is now about 1700 rpm's and it will shift down on small hills where it never did before.
When mine regens, the message shows up for about 15 seconds then goes away....I don't know but am assuming my regen doesn't go on for 20 minutes like ya'lls....Job 3 with 5800 miles on it...seems to regen every other tank or so down here is south louisiana.. not too cold as u boys in the north.
Well, my regens are running about every 700 miles or so as of now. First regen happened around 702 miles and the second around 1380 or so miles. The last one was when we were leaving minnesota for the drive back to illinois. The first 5-10 minutes, the egts were only running about 800 vs a normal driving of 600. Then after about 10-minutes, the egts shot up to 1200 degrees for about 5-minutes or so. Then the regen was done. I have an edge evolution monitoring the vital statistics and when regen starts it flashes a BIG red message until you acknowledge that regen has taken place.
