I was shocked, it wasn't just grey or dark it's flat out black.
I'm heading back there tommorow to confront them. It's bad enough to pay what these guys charge for a diesel oil change but when they take your money and don't even change it, that's robbery!!
Now that aint right! Let us know what happens. Ill come bail ya out of jail if it gets to heated!

Took my oil sample back down to Grease Monkey and confronted them.
Manager says that the black oil is normal for most diesels even after a fresh oil change. He said to prove it he would let me watch and do a complete oil change again. He said the oil would still be black even after the second oil change. I agreed to his offer. They drained all the oil, pulled the top mount oil filter out and put in a new one and then refilled it with Rotella oil. After that he pulled the dip stick out to show me how black it was. NOT, it was GOLD not black!! His excuse was being it had two oil changes the first one flushed it out so it's cleaner now. I say BS, these guys are screwing people. I pulled another oil sample out when I got home later and put it in an identical container. Night and day difference, one is pure black one is golden brown.

I also asked him why they told me that I didn't have and external transmission filter when in fact I did. He said the guy must have missed it. He gave me a new filter and put it in as I watched.

The good thing is I now know I have a fresh oil change and transmission filter. The bad thing now is I don’t know if I got the fresh Mercon SP they claim they replaced. No way of telling on that one.

I say they never changed it in the first place. Sounds like a money racket to me. Never heard of the place before but if their a franchise, I'd be talking to someone at corporate if I was you.

Thanks for the update. I agree, the guy is full of BS. At least you now know the truth and they did fix it.

What he said.

I am glad your a consumer that stands up for yourself.

Shops like that give the good ones a bad name to, as most people just lump them all together.
