Towing a goosneck with a supercrew

I am in need for a crew cab truck because a car seat doesn't fit in my f250 to well. I can't afford anything except a used truck and I don't trust a 6.blow so it looks like i'm f150 bound. Anyone tow with theirs?

depending on how much weight you're towing, the 5.4/3.73 combo will do great. otherwise you might be better off looking for a F250, v10/4.10 combo...

And I believe I've seen it recommended that for towing gooseneck trailers with a SuperCrew, use a truck equipped with a 6.5' bed. That became an option with the 2006 model year.

Of course, the weight to be towed will be a major factor.

Yeah, we need specifics on the load, and how often you will tow it. Everyone thinks they MUST have a diesel to tow.... the V10 is one wicked motor, and can tow damn near anything, with less maintenance (and cheaper fuel). I am on my third V10

while a 5.5' bed can fit the gooseneck, it's alot easier to jacknife against the cab...most people who do so use a offset goosneck hitch

only the 6.5' bed is recommended by Ford for using goosenecks.

I pull a 20 ft gooseneck and a ford 3000 a couple times a year. Don't want a v10. Gas will go back up. I also have a 78f350, but I would like to tow 6000-7000lbs if needed. I know bout jacknifine into the cab. Previous owner did in in my truck.

I assume the 6.0 you're talking about is a Chevy 2500?

Okay...I understand this is a Ford site....

But I would MUCH rather have a Chevy 6.0 than a 5.4 for towing a heavy load. More power, more torque, and a reputation as being as reliable as our mod motors.

nope he's talking about the 6.0psd in the superduty, lots of people dont like them at all while others love them

61 uni what about an 99-03 super duty they still had the 7.3 in them, or are you also looking to downsize?

What's the consensus on pulling a 7,150lb Jayco Fifth Wheel with 06 F-150 Screw, 5.4 Auto, towing package, mostly short term to a RV park around 150 miles oneway.

I was doing this research for a friend and after talking with him again and getting more info I also thought the same. Since he's going to pull it about 150 miles and park it for probably the next 3-4 years then move it back home I figured no problem. He did tell me he was going to have electric brakes installed before pulling, and he had decided to go with a gooseneck. Thanks for the input, it's always good to have a secound opinon.
