SO here is why,in today's world we are battling on the streets with the d-maxs,and cummins,to see who is better(even though we now its us)LOL.this is our muscle car days.
Heres my food for thought.
how would you hide things like your chip, after market fuel pump,Reg. return, and so on.
I know this is hard to do cause we are proud of our trucks and like to show of.and I know when we pop our hoods not to many people know what there looking at.But this for the guys that do know what to look for.
I kinda thought this is the answer I would get,LOL.
Well most of us add the mods for the "showing off" factor to begin with...so ..why hide it. But I have had a sleeper Mustang in the past....Little 76 "cobra" but it was modded all high performance under the hood and tranny. Couldn't tell squat til I stomped on it and pulled high 10's. It is always nice to see the expression of the other guys face when you dust em. But I think it would be tough to hide it since with the good mods, exhaust is a requirment for EGTs and air flow...so that is usually a dead give away. As well as a good set of pod mounted gauges which are visible unless you have really dark tint on the glass.
I perfer to Rock out with a Smoke Out :-p. Its easy to make a sleeper, just throw a regular 4in exhaust with a tip on but a dark tint on your windows put your gauges and chip below the dash. But I prefer having my items out to see because its cool to see how many modified trucks are really out there, just driving down the road every time I look at the A pillar of any diesel truck I meet to see if they have gauges which leads to more.
hide the guages, diesels are perfect sleepers most programmers have stock settings, push a button and boom hopped up, could not do that with a mustang.
As soon as it starts, anyone worth their diesel salt will know what's there. Keep your hood down, and build a monster PSD like Kris did. NOBODY would suspect that kind of power out of a PSD.
If you reallly wanted to hide it, take the hood insulation OFF the hood and secure it on top of the motor. At that point, why would you even open your hood.

Thats true I forgot about it sounding different. Kris does have a mighty fine motor in that truck..
