I asked a question about job 1 trucks and the drivers infromation center not telling me when the truck is in regen last week. I took my truck in a second time for the updates, I had it done once in October before the suspension. For me it's a 100 mile drive home from the dealer and I can tell you my truck now has a different shifting pattern. 55mph is now 1600 rpm on my truck. I got 17mpg driving down to the dealer and got 18.8 to 20.1 going home and it was snowing and about 10 degree's outside.
What I do not have is any message in my infromation center that will tell me when it's in regen. I assume you can scroll through the infromation center and find this when not in regin. I told the service guy that I should be able to see it and when they couldn't make it appear they told me my XL truck might have a different level of infromation center installed and this update is not available to me. I will call Ford on Friday but what do you guys think.

Mine will tell me when it starts cleaning the exhaust filter, but it doesn't tell you the whole time it is doing it. It just flashes the message once.

If your message only flashes you don't have the latest update. Mine used to flash as well but after getting the reflash it will stay on for the entire period.

You can't scroll through your message center to view your regen status when it isn't actually regenerating. It only appears when you're in regen. I would give your truck some time to regenerate before calling Ford. I doubt the XL trim model has anything to do with it.

Is that all the latest reflash does? I have a jan 08 build and I think it is a job 3, so shouldn't it be up to date? Should I go get the latest flash?
The Reactivation and Program extension to the Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 08B07 has been reissued on 15 December 2008 to reprogram the Power Control Module (PCM) and the Instrument Cluster (IC). The reflash program is in effect until 31 December 2009. The CSP 08B07 covers 6.4L trucks built from the beginning of Job #1, December 2006, to 15 September 2008. It is for 6.4L trucks built at the KTP.
Owners will be notified by mail starting 5 January 2009. Oasis has the Vin's listed since 15 December so you can get it done now. I have booked my truck for 2 January for the reflash and oil change.
With this reflash, when the 6.4L engine is in regeneration the Cleaning Exhaust Filter will be displayed continuously on the IC during the Regen. At the end of the cleaning, the Exhaust Filter Drive Complete will show on IC. If through time your DPF gets filled up with soot then the continuous Drive to Clean Exhaust Filter will display on the IC. You must then drive above 30 mph for at least 20 minutes to clean DPF. At the end of Regen the Exhaust Filter Drive Complete on IC will come on.
The IC will only display the Exhaust filter messages while the Cleaning is taking place. It will not be displayed during non cleaning periods while driving.
Ya I know for a while they stopped flashing trucks with this software. I guess it was causing some issues. I went in a little over a month back and that's when they told me. if in fact they reinstated the flash i will make my appointment asap.
