Door ajar help
Help! I'm still stuggling with a door ajar problem. This is a 2007 XLT crew cab 6.0 L PSD that I'm rebuilding. The door ajar warning is always on and the dome lights want to be on all the time. I have taken the door apart and tested all the switches and they all work properly- they close when the door is shut. The front doors have power to the switches and the switches close when the door is closed. The back doors do not have power to the switches; however both switches close when the doors are closed. It looks like those door are not getting power. I have checked the fuses and all seem to be working. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

By rebuilding, have you replaced the VSM or GEM? I have having a similar issue and it's boiled down to Ford didn't program both my new cluster and my new VSM when I brought it to them. I found threads on another forum that had our issues and programming the VSM cured them.

Shoot the latching mechanism with WD40. Soak it and open and close your door a few times. Took care of my problems a few years ago. That should work unless the problem is with the rear doors not getting power keeping the loop open.
