Front coil suspension on TTB F250??

Okay so last night I was putting an add a leaf in my truck and my buddy and I started talkin' over a few beers.... usually a bad thing! I really enjoy beatin' on my truck but the ride is just no good with those leafs. I know I could put a D60 under the front or I could just invest in a nice lift spring set for my truck but thats all boring. : )

So, we were trying to remember the front suspension on his 95 Bronco. The same TTB setup just with coils. Has anyone ever swapped to a coil setup on a TTB diesel??

I was going to look at some trucks today to compare. All the brackets for the radius arms, and coils on the F150/bronco are just riveted on. I thought about pulling all those brackets off, using on my frame. Building a set of radius arms and using stock or small lift coils from a NEW powerstroke.

So there is my rambling... give me thoughts!

Thanks!

LoL I know everyone says go with the D60. Sure I could do a D60, with superduty springs and a RSK and have a nice ride.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUT.... I DON'T WANT A D60.

Sooo.... why wouldn't you change to a coil front end?? If the work was fairly straight forward, what are the downsides???

The TTB is hard to keep alligned and eats up tires. What is keeping you from wanting a D60?

I don't want a D60 because I build rock crawlers and understand the cost : ) Thats a BIG part.

Also, Alot because I like to think outside the box and be different. We do lots of desert runnin' around out here and therefore I like the TTB. I have seen it work on many desert trucks... secondly... I like the thought of progressing it into... LOOOOONG TRAVEL!

Just something different... not to mention coils on TTB does ride nice.

I'm certainly watching this space!

I have a 2X4 DRW that I'm considering making 4X4.

The board pretty much pushes the idea of just doing the D60. But the idea of a TTB coil spring front end has appeal. I don't want to go off road, I want a road truck that will handle snow.

Make sure you post back if you do this.

Coilovers with a D60 is certenly different but you didnt mention the Long travel at first. If that is the case I would love to see you stick with the D50 TTB and do it. I saw an F150 with a long travel TTB D44 and it was pretty sweet.

Ive herd from people that swaped from the TTB to the D60 and they said they like the D60 ride better. When I do anything up front to my truck it will be a D60 but that is just me. They are pretty pricy thought an that is what is holding me back. But go for it a Long Travel Coilover TTB D50 would most likley be one of a kind for sure.
