DP Installation Questions

Well I'm ready to put a dp in my rig. It's a one piece so I know I will need to cut it and put a band clamp in place. Question is can yall tell me the general procedure of removing the old one and puttin the new in? Any info is appreciated. Thanks and Merry Christmas

John

Here is a photo where I made my two cuts. If I had to do over think I would of cut the top end first then drop it down and cut bottom end.

I did it just backwards, bottom end first and not much room down there.

Free Installation Instructions Ford PowerStroke Pickup Truck Trubo Down Pipe

Let us know how it comes out I have to do that mod soon.
I want to install gauges first to get a base line of where my truck is then add mods.

Maybe, if you took the hood off. I don't think you can get the down pipe high enough to slip in in there. Could be wrong though as mine was two piece.

Drop the rear of the tranny helps a bunch! Why are you sayin gyou need to cut it??? Don't Cut It! go in from the top with the new one!
I cut my old DP in three pieces with a plasma cutter and it came right out! The new one will slip down from the top real easy. The instructions might say go from the bottom.
Have fun an Merry Christmas !

the one on my dp is different style then the stock one, it should work fine removing the tranny crossmember and letting it drop all the way down makes a big difference on the install. that was the trick to the dp's on the new body style trucks.

When you get the old one out and you make room (bend the crap out of your firewall seam) jack up the front it should slide in from the bottom,I can take mine out in one piece and put it back in from the bottom in one piece just need to make the room for it.

Merry Xmas

the Best gift this Xmas was the smile on my daughters face when she came downstairs this morning
