hey joe, does your truck have a locker, or a limited-slip device in the rear end? Any play in the pinion?

play up and down, or are you talking going from throttle to coasting? I know when my yoke loosens up every once in awhile, especially after I pull something way too heavy, I have a vibration and usually break out the 3/4" drive sockets and tighten it back down. The vibration goes away. Usually only has about 1/8" up and down play, about the same as a really worn u-joint.

That drive line angle looks straight, almost to straight.

What is that mess laying on the brake pedal?

That plug you are holding is supposed to go to the low vacuum switch.

You have a good project vehicle there.

When I install U joints, the first thing I do is pump all that gunk they ship with out before I even install the joints in the shaft.

As soon as it is installed, I give it several more pumps to make sure it is well greased.

Not to sure about stairt but in the picture in your gallery the driveshaft looks like there is no angle where it connects to the rearend may be an optical illusion. But beeing too straight will cause a vibration too. I dont know how yours can be to straight the angle needs to be the same at both ends.
