Adjusting shift points

I have a 2004 F350, 6.0 powerstroke, airaid intake & 4" magnaflow dual exhaust. I mainly use my truck to tow a 9000# camper. I'm going to install a Hypertech Max Energy programer today. Any recomendations on where to set the shift points?

With my experimenting, their isn't a lot of slack in gas tunes. My recommendation would be to try and max each out so you know your limits. Then cut the difference in half. If it's close to gas tuning, 1-2 +100rpms, 2-3 +200 rpms, 3-4 +300rpms. These were just under my limits, 1-2 didn't shift at +200, 2-3 didn't at +400, I never did max out 3-4.

I reckon I will try that, I just don't want to screw anything up.

You should be able to damage anything with shift points, just be prepared to not have a higher gear than your testing. With my software, I was able to shift by feathering the pedal, it reduced the rpm and changed the tps enough to command a shift.
