Hey guys,
I'd like to go back to the dash clicking. Just got my 01 last week and it ran fine. The last owner said that it never was chipped. Snowing and blowing for the last few days. Went out at noon today and it ran fine. Went to leave this evening and started to click and won't start. I checked all the fuses. I had a "no start" problem with my 96 and it ended being a bad fuel heater (was blowing the big fuse under the hood). When I unplugged the under dash fuse for the fuel heater, the clicking stopped, the wait to start wouldn't light up and still no start. I haven't been able to fine the relay that is clicking yet, could this be a shorted fuel heater again that hasn't blown the fuse yet?
That fuse controls a lot more than just the fuel bowl heater, without looking, I think the PCM is on the same fuse.
Batteries are 3 days old, 1000/850's and I cleaned the post clamps. I have good spin speed but it no fire. The clicking relay sound comes from under the dash as soon as I turn the key to wait for the plugs to warm up and the dash lights also do some flickering. Block heater has been plugged in all along. In the mean time I'm going to unplug the fuel heater and try to locate the relay again. Thanks for the reply's.
My Xmas present has arrived. Unplugging the fuel heater seems to have worked. B4, I had a clicking and the dash was doing funny things with only the key turned on and she wouldn't fire. I unplugged #30 cab fuse (30amp) and the dash was normal minus the wait to start sign - still no fire. Plugged #30 back in and unplugged the fuel heater, she runs. Hope that solved the problem because I have to go to three family Xmas's now and I don't need a breakdown. Merry Christmas to all
