well i will admit i didnt know that... but even the guy on the video said this won't become a production vehicle...my view on it that it will probably be downsized...correct me if im wrong but the Hino trucks arent under the strict guidelines brought on the 3/4 to 1 ton trucks? So wouldn't they even have to modify this truck even further? Bc i believe nothing was mentioned about this...

Do you mean the emissions? I'm not sure if the 8.0 hino engine actually meets the 2008 emissions regulations. let alone the 2010 regulations. I suspect it doesn't.
If toyota decides to bring a 3/4 or 1 ton to market, it better look better than that monstrosity. I wouldn't be shy of a hino engine though.
I think toyota is the only import mfg that has a chance at competing with the big boys, I would definitly watch with interest if they did introduce a big truck though. I think they have the corporate experience and resourses globally that they could do a very good job of it. (maybe better than the big 3) However buying japanese over american is a different issue
