Have you guys seen the Tundra commercial where they're pulling a covered trailer accross these two steel rails, kinda like a bridge without the deck. This bridge stretches accross a canyon with a bunch of big fans blowing a cross wind to show how steady the truck is while towing in a cross wind. Looks good if you buy the whole CGI video bit. Any truck that has a frame that flex's like the Tundra's, isn't going to handle wind very well at all. Living in Edmonton, I see a lot of truck traffic daily. Yet every time I see a Tundra - it's not towing anything. Usually being driven by some **** that thinks he's big stuff cuz he's in a big pickup.
I would have loved to have seen that Tundra running down the road. ITs sad to see people using half ton trucks as Heavy duty trucks. Just think about when they get a diesel engine.

It was pretty sad, bed of the truck down way low and sorta tilted to the left. a good 6-8" of space between bed and cab
still a good laff thou... the video i saw was a direct feed thou..not the blurry projector handy cam that one is..
not sure were i saw it now...
It's on the Ford website. Just look for the comparison tests of the new F150. It has the dirty Jobs show dude in it. I think his comment at the end of the washboard was "does the toyota still have it's bed attached?" Hee hee hee
Well in retrospect, the guy pullin them SUV's thunk that the 10,000 pound towing literally meant hook the rear to 10,000 pounds and drive away...
What a tool.
Does anyone on this forum know anyone that owns a Tundra? I'm just curious what their thought process is to buy a Toyota truck? Why? Reflecting on trucks since the '64 Bronco thru current day, what on earth is wrong with a domestic truck???

I know a few people that own tundras, and swear they are the best trucks they have ever owned...........I owned a toyota tacoma for about 7 years and put 202,000 miles on it, worked it harder than i should have in some cases, raised hell in it more than a few times and spent less than 700-900 in repair work for it the whole time i owned it ........that includes things that are going to wear out on any vehicle; brakes, shocks, timing belt. Then i went to a toyota sequoia (big suv) put 140k trouble free miles on it, then went to a f350 that have had nothing but problems with.........Granted it was used, had over 100,000 miles when i got it, but the other toyotas did too. Ive spent about $2400 in repairs to it and owned it at a year last month.........Now dont get me wrong i love Ford trucks and the superduty's are the baddest ones out there today, so i would buy another one again(with a warranty and above a 2005 model ) So i still love my truck i just got a bad apple, but it does seem that more than just an isolated case as far as my friends and family that own chevy, fords that a heck of alot more things go wrong than with the import vehicles that people i know own....I know you cant really compare that but it just seems like theres always something with my dads chevy 1500 or my friends ford ranger, ford f150, that keep them in the shop????
As far as the idiot that towed too much with his tundra thats his fault, that could happen to any brand truck if a moron is behind the wheel. Toyota is known for reliablity, high resale value and a tough truck. Unless my mind changes again which is does often my next truck will more than than likely be another toyota unless i can get a better deal on a ford.......just mainly for reliability reasons. I just dont need a superduty anymore but i do love having it but often find myself worrying about it while im driving as in (what else could go out at any time).....I really like the 04+ F150's too so it might be a harder decision than what i thought.............like i say my mind changes alot!
You guys are talking about the New 09' F-150 VS, the other's video,,go to fordvehicles.com,,should find it there,,the Bed flexing on the tundra is unbelieveable. It's a pretty rough track there,,,I think the Toyota hit it once and only once doing over $5 k damage to it,,,LOL,,,,the new F-150 hit it over and over,,no issue's,,,thats what I heard !
Funny thing, the Toyota dealer in Oshkosh uses a Reg. cab GMC p/u to plow their lots. I guess they realize the Tundra isnt up to the task! makes for some great winter advertising.
