I have a 87 bronco 11 that came from California and has no rust so that is not the problem. I take the motor off and clean good and put it back in. It works fine when the Temperature is warm but soon as it gets cold it won't engage. Is there a solution to this problem. Is there a place to buy a new motor for a 1987?
you talking the servo that engages on the transfer case? auto stores have a aftermarket setup that by-passes the servos and vacume actuaters with a cable that you pull to engage and disengage the t.c.... i myself have the manual shift transfer case, i feel there is less to go wrong.
saw one at a local place with a napa deal contract., friend was having problems with the 4 wheel drive engaging in his ranger and i asked parts dude behind the counter. memory seems to be a cable ending in a y yoke inside a collar, or something like that.
Found a motor at NAPA wireing harnes was different had to use three wires from old one and now it works fine so far. It will be below 0 tonight so will have the big test tommrow.
