I have to get my truck smogged and I have a ses light. Truck runs great no problems, California sucks.

I got a tip that a shop around the block from me would do it for free.
They said it was the glow plug relay. I ordered one from Napa special order, the one they wanted to sell me had a mounting flange with holes at 90 degrees. The one on the truck has holes at 180 degrees and rubber isolation mounts. Price was a bit steep at $96 otd with a fleet discount.

Panties in KNOT.

I guess free is not free.

I now have a replacement AIH relay coming that I don't need or want.

Maybe I can get Napa to cancel the order in the AM.

Napa cancelled special order.

Got new gpcm installed and cleared codes.

Still throwing code.

Is there a fuse inline on power to each bank on gpcm?

What is the code it is giving you? I see you added your location; RC is 10 minutes from me.... pm me if you want to read the codes. I have the Predator, and a Linear Logic ScanGauge II. Both will read and clear codes.

I am still getting a p1690. I have to check to make sure power is going to both sides of gpcm. I guess next step is removing vc's to check 9 pin plugs. While I'm in there I will replace the gp's and torque everything. And do the 50 cent fix. Any thing else I should look for.

OK disregard previous post. P1690 is waste gate solenoid. I assume that is the unit attached to the front of the x pipe.

WGC Solenoid is about $45.00 from the dealer....ask me how I know:
I replaced mine some time back...cleared the P1690, but it took a long time to clear the P1000 (Drive Cycle not complete) afterwards

Once you clear codes (either with a scan tool or disconnecting the batteries) you should not have anything done regarding OBDII diagnostics (i.e. smog check) for at least 100-150 miles. Some of the self-tests that the computer does before recording the results internally are mileage based and can take up to that long for some of the functions. I fixed my F-150 years ago and got it smogged the next day and failed because some of the self-test features had not registered yet (only drove about 20 miles after I reconnected the batteries). Now even the smog shop will ask me if I've disconnected the batteries within the last week or last 100 miles or so.
