Exclamation smoke

alright so everyone helped me on my last post but i don't have that kind of money at the moment so is there anything that i can get that's kind of cheap that would make my truck smoke like a pig

i missed the last topic so all i can offer for under 15 bucks is this- icp mod and eot mod, wont smoke like a pig but it will smoke a little. to get any considerable smoke you need to drop 400 bucks on a custom chip such as a tw or dp-tuner

which resistor goes to the icp and the eot i also already have the edge evolution which that did help will the smoke some but just not enough

you will have to be careful with the edge products, i hope you have gauges as they are not the greatest tuners out ther. they get hot egt's on their own.

at any rate, the eot gets a 4.7k resistor. the icp you can experiment with to see what your truck likes the best, they all seems to be a little different, my truck is happiest with a 14.7k (10k and a 4.7k inline) just start with a 10k and test drive it going up in size till you are happy or the motor bogs down, whichever comes first. typicly you can try a 10k, a 14.7k, a 15.6k, an 18k, a 20k, and a 22k. 18k seems to be the max, there is actually a dyno sheet of a guy that tested his truck with the icp mod done in this fasion, i thikn it was the 15.6k that got 65 horespower and 80 ft lbs of torque, or near that. i cant recall.

ok so i don't have that gauge yet i am getting one soon is this a good idea to put on my truck without that gauge if i take it easy or should i just wait till i get the gauge?

ive been runnin 20k icp and 4.7k eot for almost 6 months now. i ran 10k for the other 6. in that year i have never had problems. i just take it out for towing. i dont have guages and still have stock dp. i would recommend the 3 guage a pillar for a a little more money. get trans temp boost for 35lbs and egt (pyro) for 1400 degrees

alright that helps i have the boost gauge but still need the other stuff getting it soon but what are you towing that you take it out for?

idealy anytime you will have the potential for extended heavy throttle (hills) you shouldnt have it in without egt gauge. flat ground you would be fine. i've had the icp mod and chip for a couple years without issue and i dont eve remove it, i've had 15k on the back of mine with everything installed. its all about common sense and not trying to be the first one to the top of the hill.

you are better with the chip then just the icp mod. all i'm saying is keep egt's in the back of your mind while playing with an edge.

i tow an 8000 pound tractor including wheel weights and 4000 pound trailer. i also haul logs and cow manure. dont take it out for them but def the tractor. when i pulled at the fair i just went down to a 14.7

alright well thanx guys i have a 37 foot living quarters horse trailer that i haul to show but other than that i just have a little to horse trailer that i pull around i have on more ?? tho does this make me gain horsepower and torque to????
