Well I went to take my alternator to Oreillys and my truck kept cranking but no fire. I turned the key off and on a few times and didn't hear the fuel pump running. The truck was in my garage all day and night yesterday. Is there a way I can test if my fuel pump is what went bad before spending $100 on a new one before taking my bed off?
You may not know, but there is a high pressure fuel pump on the frame rail up front about where the firewall is, thats where I would start and see if it's still working.

ok yea the guy at a parts store said there are 2 pumps. So one could 1 still work and the other one not and it will still cause it to not run? Ive needed to replace in the sending unit anyway in the tank because my fuel gauge is weird.
Ill check them out maybe tomorrow or I might have to wait till i get a day off work.
A few months ago one of the wires came loose where it connects on the fuel pump (frame mounted) while I was driving, engine died and would'nt start just crank, so if it's not working the truck won't run.
