Are these the same or not?

Are these the same or not?
Plan to do the FPR shim mod this weekend and lost as a baseball in high weeds, whether these two mods are the same or not, or do you do both ? Also need to know where there is a good place to check pressure before and after mod.
Shimthefuelregulator
Shimming the fitting with a 3/16 spacer behind the spring in the fuel regulator. This is located on the right hand side of the fuel filter. You will see a 3/4 brass nut there. The spring is inside there. Shimming will raise the fuel pressure and often give you a worthwhile increase in power and no one that I can recall has reported higher fuel consumption.
3/16BBintheregulator(lowfuelpressure)Shouldbe60lbsto85lbs
Regulator is the 19 mm brass bolt, on the right side of your fuel filter housing. Unscrew the bolt, pull out the spring, pull out the housing with a magnet, put the bb inside the housing were the spring goes, put the housing back, put the spring back in and put the bolt back in, just make sure the little nipple on the bolt goes in the center of the spring and tighten it up.
Thanks Darron

There is some shrader valve in there someplace.
They say you can use a tire pressure gauge to check it, but it might trash the gauge due to fuel coming out.
It's a good mod to do anyways.
I'm going to show up to buy my psd with a pocket full of resistors and a BB and a few tools to do the FPR mod.
hehe. =-)

There is a schrader valve (tire valve looking thing) right next to the regulator. I use a straight pencil type tire gauge but have to hold it on there a few seconds to get a steady reading while the tube fills with fuel. Like Talyn said, once you do that don't use it for air any more. It does make a little bit of a mess so lay some rags out under the valve before you check pressure.

Yep, seen that vavle there, though it was for bleeding off air in case you ran the truck out of fuel. They make a liquid tire pressure guage to use on tractor tires that are filled with methynol or antifreeze, I got one of those, I'm going to try it, don't think it will damage this type of guage will keep you informed on results. Thank all of you for your help. Hey Talyn are going to try to do the mods before you leave with the truck. lol
