I jumped on that one. If they did all that, I do believe I might slip an LT1 & stuff in my STX in a couple years. If it's not too hard to do or find a good one. Might have to learn TIG. Can't trust an S10 to do anything without coming apart or to work on. I've been ticced with Ford before...
I forgot to mention in mine I'm a "senior" user who enjoys helping other owners with thiers on Ford-trucks and link back to other boards, but I did suggest they might not know a good thing with thier flagship when they see it. Whether they acknowledge the Ranger as such or not. Sales & demand. If Size & cost determined flagship, why not a King Ranch F550 rigged to please ghetto boys? We need the Ranger boards left alone. They do too.
Personaly, not to be an ***, but RPS is a boring site without alot of action. Seems to be mostly kids. The ranger station is a little bettert, but not by a lot. This is the only ranger forum that really jams. If Matt keeps talking that Lt-1 stuff, were gonna ship over to the S-10 forums ha ha. Ford has a right to prtect it's names, however, these sites help promote the ford ranger and should be welcomed. I will drop ford a line as well.
Yeah, I'm already a bit ticced with Ford Motor, wouldn't suggest that to anyone else, Wendell. We need our tough little chassis' with support from fellow members. There are some good & useful builds for stronger workhorses. I just like certain things about that engine. I did a 2nd email indicating so to find the truck satisfactory. I doubt the corporate politics would radiate out this this section of Ford-trucks, but then again, if they find the going really easy...
I am going around posting this on the forums that I belong to. I love my Ranger and TRS! Ford is trying to shut us down just for using the name "ranger" in the name! What I ask from you if you feel up to it is e-mail Ford about this issue. All help will be appreciated. Here's the thread!
If you contact Ford, you will discover that usage of Ford's trademarked names inre to websites is against Ford policy without written permission.
Not only do you need written permission, you may also need a license.
Ford cracked down HARD on obsolete parts vendors and reproduction parts dealers using Ford's name.
You now need a license to use the name Ford on repro parts, in advertising and in any business name.
Ford lawyers and the local polizei confiscated one sellers HUGE reproduction inventory at a major east coast swap meet several years ago, when he told Ford to stick it...when he was warned previously that he needed a license.
He didn't get the parts back, Ford scrapped them.
This whole thing started in the late 1970's when Ford was trying to prevent Asian sheetmetal and other parts from being sold here.
The Asian sheetmetal sellers were using Ford part numbers and the Ford name on these parts.
It wasn't long before Ford went after everyone else using their trademarked names.
In today's world, Ford doesn't give a damn about their old vehicles.
As far as Ford is concerned, anything more than 10 or so years old doesn't matter, and they'd be happy if it all went to the scrappers.
This is the reason Ford has gone around the country over the past 20 some years buying out junkyards that catered to Fords and scrapping everything.

Just read about this on therangerstation forum. IMHO, this is corporate BS. The Big-3 has enough problems right now. BTW>. doesn't Polaris or some other company market a "Ranger" ATV? I guess going after a low budget website is easier than going after another manufacturer..... total BS.
"There" I sent my 2 cents. Also told them that Matt was going to put a chevy drivetrain in is ranger if they didn't cease and desist. I'm sure that will scare them off ha ha. There was a simular problem awhile back with the mustang name. Ford gave in, ford needs needs money and may just want paid for the use of thier names, so I'll send them 10 bucks to shut them up hee hee!!!
Ford must care about thier old classics, they have a whole section dedicated to them in ford world. Fords history is long with great cars thats left them thier legency. Thats going a bit far to say they don't care about thier old cars. They even sponsor ford antique car shows in cleveland and detroit and sponsor fun ford weekend at norwalk raceway park thats mostly old ford iron.
Corporate politics in a giant company. Classics is a relative bit. Too bad they bite thier own tail to make sure new waves of classics become possible. If I ever do run a Chevy in mine, it'll be for the compact little torquer aspect & fuel economy in a chassis that can handle it while pulling stuff more than its own weight without breaking stuff & its particular cooling setup for trial. Anyway, it seems a lot like GM's killing off of thier EV1 history. Similar corporate confusion that doesn't understand its customers. I'd also agree about the RPS forums. I'm usually tempted to visit the toilet after spending more than 10 minutes in there. All the small Chevy truck forums seem about the same far as I saw.

Ford Corporate really doesn't care Wendell, I wouldn't scheiss you.
There may be old Fords pictured here and there, but those are pictures taken from the vast company archives.
When was the last time you saw Ford post pictures on their Corporate sites showing their vehicles at car shows?
The last time I recall was 20 years ago...at least..when "The Deuce" was still running the show.
Ford may sponsor some car/truck shows, but that's few and far between in today's world.
If Ford cared, why do they obsolete parts every day that are good sellers, but more than 10 years old?
They want all of us to buy new Fords every coupla years.
Where does ford get off saying they Owen the word "RANGER".Thats total BS!!!Someone show me anywhere in "THERANGERSTATION" that the ford RANGER or ford is mention at all!!I JUST don't see it.Ford is doing all it can to KILL its self.JMO
