greatest thing iv ever bought in my life i never knew my truck could move or smoke like it now is
i got it installed about three days ago but the first night we finished installing it super late so i didn't really drive it but went out the next day and was hauling azz and smoking alot ha i was having a blast
and today i was leaving from school "ya still in high school" ha and i was just going down the road and had to speed up to pass a car and looked back and it was just black haha im in love even more with this truck
ok now i have a few questions to ask
when i turn the tires squeal and chirp a little is that bad
and im runnin g it with out a v/b and gauges so is t ok because im only running the 140 for maybe 15-20 min at a time
and anything else i can do to the trans
and the turbo makes a fluttering sound now is that bad
thanks and sorry i asked a few questions just trying to make sure im going to be ok
Tires: nope that's the LS in the rearend.
Gauges: I would not run the 140 really hard as you have no idea about your EGT's or any other temps
Trans: Valve body, TC, shift kit, Tugger kit will all help shifting, but will also nee a reburn on the chip
Turbo: you got the surge my man. need a WW, ATS, or BB unit
As for the highschool thing, i know where you're coming from, i just graduated this past year. Glad to hear about teh DP, what all tunes did you get?
Without an overboost annilator your EGTS are probably around 1200 wide open. I would say that being in HS your funds are limited but going by your mods you are alright on money. I would get your gauges in ASAP before anymore dress up stuff. Don't roll the coal too much now .
Congrats on the DP. As said, take it easy without gauges (get them installed ASAP). Your EGT will go up so fast. Get the VB or Transgo kit in there to. Like said again, get the OBA soon so you don't get the defueling. And the flutter you are hearing, is surge from the turbo. I been there, I don't have it now. Good luck and do what you need to do.
Congrats on the DP, VB real soon for me, i just couldn't wait like you. You mentioned in your first post that you drive for 15-20 minutes in the 140 tune, not that i,m an expert but even with gauges and VB, thats not a good idea. Jody mentioned the 120 and 140 are not for long time use. Others will chime in with their thoughts, have fun and get them gauges..
With 37s, you could be pushing it. Get the gears and VB or shift kit in there soon (and I'd even go a little taller on the gears with 37s). Your tranny is probably getting beat up with the tall tires & stock gears. But you have a nice open intake & exhaust, so that's good. Just don't stand on it up past 100mph and your EGTs SHOULD be okay. Mine didn't spike way up until 100+, but now with the van turbo, I don't have that problem...
RICK!!!! you can't do that to me man... i want them sooooo bad you have no idea. look how many threads there are of guys getting them or asking which ones to order. ughhh i hate this lol

OH, yes I can, because I know. I have a huge truck, I can't amagine what this would do in a smaller truck. Less weight anyway. You can read all you want, but you will end up with a set sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.
