Cooling system oddity

I've been trying to figure this one out for a couple of days and it's got me stumped. Radiator is full of coolant and I've let all the air bleed out of it. With the cap on and running the truck at idle for 25 minutes or so, there is pressure building up in all the hoses like it's suppose to, but the upper and lower radiator hoses are still cold. The only hoses that are hot at the heater core hoses.

With my scanner hooked up the ECT hovers around 165*F and never really goes any higher than that. The thermostat is a 195*F that got replaced a little over a year ago but I'm not ruling out that it might be stuck open either. What confuses me is why are the heater core hoses getting hot and the upper and lower radiator hoses are still cold?

If anybody has a thought for me to ponder on I'd appreciate it. I'd like to get this figured out soon.

it def sounds like the t-stat is stuck open. the heater hose is seperate routing straight from the block so it will always get hot first. maybe check your clutch fan to see if its siezed up. replacing ur t stat takes less than 20 mins and about 5 dollars so you can rule that out real fast. another thing to think about is ther could be a clog behind the t stat causing the heater hose to get hot yet the upper hose to remain cold.

Thermostats have a high failure rate right out of the box. Spend 3 more bucks for a Mr.Gasket performance Thermostat. It ramps up to its temp rated in about half the time and reduces temp variation.
