98' E250 what transmission?

It's an auto, 4sp behind a 5.4. But the mitchell software says it could be one of 3 and it doesn't give a way to id it. Anyone know an easy way?

A '98 E250 will have to be an E4OD.

It should be a 4R100. The E4OD wasn't made with the modular bolt pattern. The 4R100 debuted with the 5.4L and 6.8L in 1997 in the vans.

Mitchell On Demand. I have a buddy that has it at his shop. OnDemand5.com: online auto repair, estimating, and service information

It lists it as either having an e4od, a 4r100 or possibly a 4r70w, but it doesn't bother to tell you how to id it.

True. You got me on a technicality. But then the difference between a 4R100 and an E4OD is lost on most people anyway.
