I'm looking at the Rancho 5000 shocks for my 99 SD CC. What would be the difference between the 5000 and the 9000 shocks? I know the 9000 are adjustable. That is not a consideration for me. I don't do any major hauling with my truck, I mostly pull my 5k pound camper. Any ideas?
i ran 4 rancho 5000 shocks on my 78 f150 with a 33's and a 6 inch suspension lift and thought they were great shocks. The rancho's are the best you can buy and the 9000's are good if you want to adjust for certain conditions, but if you just hauling then i would go with the 5000's.

i have 9000's and am happy with them, have run 5000's on most of my old trucks and was always happy with them..... but these new rsx shocks look pretty good.
If your looking at the RS5000 you might consider the Mountain Ryder Extreme truck shock. They are made by the the same company (Gabriel) as the RS5000 except the Mountain Ryder has a lifetime warrenty and there about fourty dollars cheaper.
I just bought a set for my 79 Bronco and like them just fine.
CHECK OUT RANCHO RSX (GAS SHOCK- A LITTLE STIFFER RIDE) BUT THEY ARE SELF ADJUSTING DEPENDING ON HOW RADICLE THE SHOCK IS REACTING. I PAID $49 A PIECE FOR MINE. THE RS9000 ARE HYDRAULIC THAT ARE MANUALLY ADJUSTABLE (ARE YOU REALLY GONNA MESS WITH IT EVERYTIME CONDITIONS OR WEIGHT CHANGES?!). ALSO, THEY'RE ABOUT $89 A PIECE.
