My 2000 F250 7.3L diesel is not starting in the cold. When plugged in it starts fine. The GPR is working. It has 12v going to it and 11v coming off. What would be the next thing to look for or check?
11volts in a bare mimimun to start our trucks. Check you cranking voltage at the batteries and if it's much below 11volts, time for some new batteries.
I have a side question where would you test the voltage comming from the GPR. I have a similar situation when it is cold it is hard to start and I have fairly new batteries. I was just wondering.
Truck seems to crank normal. The batteries are 3 yrs. old. I can test the batteries. There are 12v going to the relay but never checked as it was turning over. Is it possible for the contacts in the relay to get wore and not let the proper voltage thru? When you turn the key on it starts at 10v and works it way up to 11.4 after a couple seconds.

On my relay there are 4 terminals. 2 big and 2 small. One of the big terminals should have a constant 12v to it. The other big terminal will have 12v when the relay is kicked in. On my truck it's the shorter relay in back and left of the fuel filter.

And just in case you don't have one of those spotless engines, here's what it looks like with a little dirt on it.
The large post with the rubber boot on it is the battery supply voltage. You want to test the other large post immediately after the key is turned on.
Mines not spotless, 2nd pic yellow GP wire from the GPR there is some dirt on that wire, and the FOMOCO part number tag on the wiring harness is dirty...... and its absolutley killing me not to go and clean it right now.......

That just ain't enough. Still betting on the batteries. If you have that voltage before you engage your starter, I'm betting it drops below 10v while cranking.
