Lightbulb 203* Thermostat???

OK, finally found and picked up 4 gal. of Chevron Delo ELC not deluted for doing a coolant flush on my truck. Got to looking on this site and a Billet Aluminum Thermostat Housing is recomended so I am getting that but my question is weather or not the 203* Thermostat is a good idea. Anyone using it? Good or bad? Was reading someplace that maybe the oil temp would get to high using it?

I use my truck mainly for pulling a 9000-1000lb. fifth wheel, for hunting, and a sunday ride now and again... Not a daily driver. I am planing on replacing the hoses while I am at it... I like to do it once and do it right the first time. Well, here is what I am looking at. Thanks in advance!

I'll be switching shortly. The link you have there tells why it's better than a 195* stat. I can't add anymore than that...

I have the 203* stat and have had it for 10 or 15k miles with no issues. It's what International actually runs in their motors. Cant remember the exact reason why Ford changed it these motors though.
Dang I'm slow and didnt look at the link, either.

I've also been running the 203* for about 18mos or so...with no problems here in the heat of south Texas. Maybe it's just in my mind, but I tend to believe the info about the engine running more efficiently and better at just a little warmer temp. I don't regret the few dollars spent and time it took to make the swap.

I've had mine for about 5 years. Just took it out and put it in my new waterpump. Still works fine.

I didn't notice a difference when I installed my 203* and billet housing. My truck heats up faster in the winter which is a plus!!
