2005 Explorer Blend Door Actuator???

Can anyone tell me if the blend door actuator is self calibrating on a 2005 with manual temperature control? If so, will disconnecting the battery make it calibrate when reconnecting the battery. I have the traditional click-click-click when I try to move to a warmer temperature. I pulled and pushed on the actuator motor and it moved to heat. Then I got the clunk-clunk-clunk when trying to go back to cool. Every time it clicks i hear a change in the airflow volume. Any help is appreciated. I have read all the heatertreater articles.

Thanks...Cold in Carolina

Actuator for the blend door needs TLC, there is a sticky around that covers the repair.

Either the door or the actuator is defective.

I have the actuator out. It has stripped teeth. Door seems to move freely with a push from the finger. Now to find a replacement. OE Part # 1L2H-19E616-CD. Thanks for replies.

Try Dorman PN 604-209. The 604-211 in the Aux part number.
