Time for me to replace the actuator. I just have one. I've watched many videos on it but none say anything about re-calibration before using. A few posts say this is needed. Is it? if so how is it done?
Pull out the fuse for the body control module (BCM) which I think is #46 (10-amp). Wait a minute or two then put the fuse back in and turn the key on for a minute or so. During the power up cycle everything should recalibrate.
Thanks. I pulled the fuse out when it started clicking so half way there. Picked up the part today. While there I asked how much to to do the repair. They said about $1200 and about 11 hrs to do it.
I replaced the motor today and thank you YouTube and here. Saved me some money. The only problem I had was I dropped the 8mm wrench inside trying to turn the back screw. Landed where I couldn't reach. I took a magnetic stick and got it. I tied a long string to it after just in case. Put everything back together and works fine. I did open the old one and found the biggest gear had 3 missing teeth on it.
Took me about an hour and a half. Wasted time on the dropping the wrench, I only had a short 8mm, and some non related breaks before I got the new one in and running.
