No Headlights
1977 f-250 4wd 300cid
Problem:
when I turn the headlight switch on all of my marker lights, tail lights, and clearance lights work, but I have no headlights and no brake lights.
If I turn the switch off I have brake lights, but not when the switch is on
I replaced the headlight switch, but still have the same problem.
Any clues as to what is wrong???
1. Your headlights are fed from a different power circuit than the marker lights. Going by memory, it's a black/orange wire that feeds the headlight switch directly from a fusible link over near the starter solenoid area.
2. The rear light problem sounds like you have lost your ground going to the bulbs. This can be caused by the bulb sockets being dirty and corroded, the sockets being bad, or rust causing the ground to the sockets and the bed to have a bad connection.
