Hey I have a 2000 ford F-350 7.3. It was a plow truck and has a mess of aftermarket wiring. Recently my headlights stopped working. My daytime running lights work, but when you turn the headlights on the actual headlights don't turn on. However, the highbeams light on the dash turns on no matter what the position of it the highbeam lowbe switch is. The lights don't actually come on. Just my marker lights and the hughbeam indicator light. I replaced the switch with a new oem ford switch, and immediately after hooking up my batterys my wipers turned on no matter what the position The dial was in it wouldn't shut off. Still no headlights. Took the new switch out, put the old one back in, same as before except the wipers don't come on anymore you turn the windshield washers on, then they shut back off. Going to try a new main headlight switch later today to see of that'll fix the headlights, but I'm just wondering what is going on with the blinker wiper switch. Maybe theres a plug problem? The wiring for that is stock
Is t still a plow truck??? Regardless, disconnect the wiring from the Battery/Batteries for the plow harness. Disconnect positives for 10 minutes, leave the plow harness off and see if everything works as it should.
Generally the plow harness is the issue and not the stock harness.
At any rate, it will tell you if where the wiring is compromised.
No its not a plow truck currently, and the plow harness is disconnected and has been for a while. Still a mess of some "Custom" wiring from a genius who thought he was an electrician. just a slew of wires in my fuse box really.
Is the plow harness still in the fuse box??? Sounds like it. ANNNNNNNNNNNNd if you don't want to plow. Just remove the entire harness and get it back to bone stock without all the crap in your way and report back.
