Miles to empty question

If it is like the filter sock on a Mustang in tank fuel pump--next to nothing will get into the pump. Blockage to the pump by a bunch of crap stuck to the filter has been known to happen though.... Gotta love old gas stations in Guam!

On my '08 V10, the miles to empty can read 0................. yet, all that it takes to fill is 24-25 gallons. This is on a 30.5 gallon tank.
Thus, there is a huge reserve left when reading zero. Fine with me............. I just can't stand seeing that thing show zero. LOL

I have to calculate it manually since I don't have a miles to empty gauge. When my light comes on, I consistantly put 30-32 gallons in a 38 gallon tank.
At only 8mpg though, I'm usually sweatin' when the light comes on when I'm traveling.

This is true, the gunk in the tank is like a real fine sludge and water. It could starve the pump. It's best to fill up at 1/4 Tank if nothing else but to keep that pump motor nice and cool. We've all ran our trucks down to the E, and we know it's not right, but sometimes it happens.
