No gravel box but this 1989 FL 112 FRIEGHTLINER doesn`t seem too bad:
450,000km, Cummins 450 hp 9 speed trans-I don`t really care for that, tandem rears 40,000lb 12000, front. $9500 with a fresh safety but the wb 187'' is too short for a box. 1989 FL 112 FRIEGHTLINER - Saskatoon Cars & Vehicles For Sale - Kijiji Saskatoon
That truck is, ok. Its not bad, not a smoking deal (but not bad)
The goods is it has fairly low km (if thats accurate) has a cummins (good for some, bad for some, might be a good cummins) 40k rears would work, but I personally would like at least 44's, and the freash safety is always nice!
The bads, well its a frieghtliner, has a cummins (good for some, bad for some, might be a poor cummins) I would get at least 44k rears, the fact that it is short, and 89 is getting to be old (unless well maintained)
I did see it and while it seems ok it`still it`s too much $ for this Bobcat guy that wouldn`t likely get alot of use out of it. And the Louisville`s are still running like a hound....
I bet them Fords have paid themselves off a few times by now eh!
I think the next one I look at will be around a 97 or so. Thats new enough to be in good shape and not abused, comfortable enough, and should still get good mileage!
Gonna try for an 18 speed next time too, I prefer that way over the 8ll.
An 18 speed is pretty much the same thing, but it has splits everywhere. It sure came in handy with some of the mountain side offroad driving we would have to do in northern alberta.
I remember this one lease i had to go into, and on the way up, there was a point were I could see nothing but sky! I got right up to the top, doing some super fancy fast splitting, and the truck spun out right at the top(with chains on).
