The stock setting is not dumping quite as much fuel and that may be the differance and it may be a one time thing. I think you'll be good to go on your trip. You could even return it to your tune and see if it matters. That's the good thing about a DP-Tuner. You can change it with the push of a button. Go, enjoy your hunt and don't worry about your truck, it will be fine. Happy Thanksgiving.
Could it be just a one time thing as far as a sticking injector?
It could happen again....
Winter 2006 it was a somewhat common occurrance because somehow I just never ran any fuel additives and took care of the fuel system like I used to. My buddy and I were driving around with two chicks and out of nowhere it was like I lost 1 or 2 cylinders. I stopped, shut the truck off, restarted, and it was fine again.
It did it again as I was about to leave work, I let my truck idle to warm up and it started running rough and belching out whitish, blue smoke. After a few minutes, it stopped and evened out.
Definately start using more PS "Diesel Fuel" winter blend (white bottle) on the fuel side and you should probably try either Schaffers or Hot Shot Secret on the oil side. The fuel and oil additive together will clean and lube things up.
Since then, I've run either Diesel Kleen or Biodiesel to keep things clean and lubed up. I've just recently started using HSS (oil) and 404 Firepower (fuel)and the two have really helped with cold starts on some cold winter mornings.
