Where I go for fuel here in the Buffalo area is an Indian Reservation and involves going down a long incline that is a little steep, certainly not by west coast standards, but for Buffalo it is. So of course on the way back to town I have to go up this incline. With my Superchips I had never been able to climb this incline with the cruise set on 50 mph without the truck down shifting. So this being my first trip to Buffalo since Jody installed the DP for me I figured I would try it. Last Friday I did the same hill at 50 mph with the DP set on 80E, it nearly made the grade but did down shift just at the summit. Today I tried the exact same thing again, but this time I used the 140 AG setting, it did not even dream of down shifting. Every time I do this I am of course carrying 39 gallons of fuel. Amazing, now I wish I had tried it in the 120, but I did not and am probably not going back out there. Jody and Diane should use this in their customer testimonial scrap book.
Diane was asking for pictures and comments to be sent to her for a little project. Perhaps you should send this story in.
I discussed this with her online and told her I would do it when I got back to Charlotte. I don't really have a photo worthy truck like most of y'all do, I mean mine is nice and clean and dent and ding free, but nothing fancy, just a nice dependable truck. It is almost tempting to go back out there and try it in the 120 setting, but it's almost a 50 mile round trip. With my Superchip I could not even do that hill at 65 mph without it down shifting. I do think Jody's 80E would have done it at 60 mph, that's how close it came to making it at 50 mph.
But if she needs this for advertising purposes, most of her prospective customers will not have some big fancy looking truck. I would think it would be better for her to have pictures of trucks that include stock looking trucks to, so she can attract the type of customer who does not want to do $5k worth of upgrades.
that's the first thing I noticed after installing DP and going to mountains
The backroads are curvy and steep in places.with cruise at 45 running hypertec just starting up an incline it would downshift.with DP in 40T would almost make it to the top.in 80E it just kept pulling all the way
That's all I got,but with a 9500lb truck ain't bad
