Cooperative Dealer

My new truck (2008 F250 SD 6.4L) does not have daytime running lights. I have been told this is merely a computer fix to activate them. My dealer will not do this and has provided information from Ford (apparently) that "tampering" with lighting systems is not allowed by Federal law.
Anyone know of a dealer in the San Francisco Bay Area that may have a better understanding of this, or be willing to fix the situation?
Thanks

I'd suggest looking in your owners manual for the "1-800-customercare" number, calling them and explain what you want done, they sholud be able to get things moving for you.

Thanks for the input. I contacted them via email a while back and the only response I got, based upon my VIN, was that I did not have daytime running lights. They did not address my question about it being a computer update fix.

You might look at the NHST website for Tech bulletins/etc, there may be info.

Seems Dealers don't know about things, until you tell'em
