So, you ever see guys driving fancy convertibles with a hat on?

And you just know they as bald as a door ****, plus they are obviously compensating for a lack of "manhood".

Well, yesterday, I had to go get the wife's friend '69 Vette out of storage so she could drive it up to her pal in the Bay Area, it was a real nice convertible-day, about 73/74 degrees out, so I dropped the top and cruised it through the center of town.

Had all these folks looking at me (a canary Yellow ragtop Vette will do that for you), and as I looked in the rearview mirror, I realized I had my ball cap on.

Hmmn, didn't want anyone to think I was a chrome-dome, so quickly pulled it off...got to thinking about it more, since there's all these 4WD's in town, and just stuffed the cap in my pants for safe keeping.

Hahahaha. That'll show'em!

Ah, when I used to drive my vert stang / when I'm out in the boat I always wear a heat to keep me cool and help with the reflection. I never even though much about this.

Gee, and I thought I wore a ball cap in my convertible because I didn't like my long. flowing hair blowing in my face while driving down the road. Now I find out it's because I'm compensating for something about someone else's opinion of me. NAWT!

I was just thinking about your statement Mike. I think I'd wear that hat bald or not. Especially around those cowboys. You never know when they are going to spit out that chew.

As someone who is getting too tall for his hair, I would drive in a conv. without a hat. I just have to remember to put a little sun screen on that shiny patch on the top.

I wore my mullet for most of the years I drove the Pelican (64 Falcon Conv). I saw a guy recently who could never, ever wear a hat in his convert... He sported a chrome-dome and a license plate that read CUEBALL !

I wear a ball cap when I drive my convertible. It helps to keep the sun out of my eyes. I've got a full head of hair so there's no need to conceal or compensate for anything. It never occurred to me that anyone would assign a motive to my having it on.
