Now the question: I am considering having my F-100 shipped down here from seattle so I can actually work on it and enjoy it. I've just put in for about 20 online quotes from shipping companies. I need to have it shipped from Seattle, Wa to The San Francisco Bay Area, namely Vallejo. Anybody have any exceptionally good experiences with auto shipping companies? I am looking for the least expensive way to get it down here (remember poor college kid). Thanks in advance.
Well I had my bronco trucked from Miami to Massachusetts about six months ago for ~650. Not sure what those companies quoted you, or who you tried. I used DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers). I liked that I could track the truck. Where are you located? Cali?Just an idea.
Oh, SF, guess if I had read it better I could have answered my own question. Is the truck moveable? You consider driving you rig back to seattle and renting one of those Uhaul trailer things? Seems that might be the cheapest.
yeah i live in cali but I left the truck in seattle when I moved down here (to college) I didn't think I'd have any time or place to work on it. But, turns out that we have full auto shop to use and the weekends are long. So here I am.
Okay just read your second post. Yes that was the plan for a while, but I don't want to put my F-250 through that. If it was all flat, I'd do it but the siskeys are a helluva mountain pass and even though the truck would probobly be just fine, I don't want to put stress on it. I like it too much and I like to take it real easy on ol betsy. Plus, I've got no hitch and I've never towed anything real big before. So I am thinking this may just be easier.
