I use the Streamlight Strion, I have one for my L.E. belt and one for my truck. I havent gotten around to installing it yet, but this post gives me a renewed interest. Too many projects, not enough time.
Those installs are nice. Since I am am a newbie and still have not figured out how to insert any pictures yet, I will a least explaine what I did in my 99 S/D and 01 EX. I mounted a 4D Maglite on each side of my trucks. There is enough room from the bottom of the seat to the door sill and from the edge of seatbelt connection to the front of the seat. Maglite makes a plastic clip just for their lights. They come two to a pack and I think for around $7.00. You can find them from Graingers. With a couple of self tapping screws to put through the floor board you can do the install in about 20 minutes. It adds a great detail to the trucks when you open the doors. A lot of people usually ask after seeing the light on the passanger side why? And I say it does not matter what side you are on and you need a flashlight you do not have to walk to the other side to get one! Than they look at you with that stupid BUBBA face and say well that is pretty cool! Or if you are in the "Jungle" and need to grab something to start swinging just reach down and that 4D is at your service!
I just have one question. The Maglites say they are good for 1000 charges. If you leave your flashlight constantly on the charger, does that decrease your battery life? Or, are the chargers that come with them considered "trickle chargers"?
I have a question, where do you get those flashlights that mount & charge in the truck? I haven't seen them in years.
I got my Stinger rechargeable years ago through Galls, which is a police and tactical store online. It flashlight came with both car charger and ac/dc charger.
