Steering pulling side to side

I have a 05 F350 and driving home tonight the truck starting pulling hard from side to side after turning a corner. I turned the corner and the steering wheel only came back so far and keeped pulling to the right and then I pulled the steering wheel to the left and the truck darted hard to the left and back and forth until I stopped.

I had the front end looked at by my mechanic and everything in the front end is tight and wouldn't reproduce the problem on the rack. So I started driving home and it started all over.

Thanks for any info in advance.

Did they check the "Stabilizer Bar" (or sway bar) end links?

Yes he did. I called a front end/frame specialist this morning and he is going to look at it. He says it may be the power steering pump or even the gearbox.

Sounds like the hydro-boost unit.

Yep mine did same thing, greased the axle u-joints(the only serviceable ones on the whole truck) and problem fixed
