i keep getting this code with the hypertech programmer plugged in? the only time i reset the ecu was when i did the o2 sensors which ive put a good 3-400 miles now on the truck since, either the hypertech is wrong or why would i still be getting a p1000 code ?? the 400 or so miles i put on the truck has been a mix of hwy and city, shouldnt the obdII be reading ready by now?
no just says p1000?? im gonna hit autozone and see what there scanner says. cause is it possible one of the new 02's i put in arent reading correctly?? im not getting any CEL's though
IIRC, the P1000 is the Ford PCM's way of telling you that all monitiors have not run to completion yet. Some monitors are pretty picky about the requirements that must be met before the monitor runs, depending on the year of your vehicle.
If you don't have a CEL, it hasn't found a specific problem yet.
You want a scan tool that can display each monitor and its status. And it might also be helpful if the scan tool can display pending codes. (Pending codes are codes that have failed (which can prevent a monitor from running), but do not set the CEL unless they fail for two succesive trips. I haven't seen an AutoZone reader that can do that.
well its a 97 expy 4.6 , what are some of the requirements? only thing i havent done is a long run down the HWY?? done a bunch of start and stop and city type driving
