Alright my E4OD is slipping out of gear as far as I can tell. When lightly hitting the gas, especially when slowing down or going down hills, I fell it bucking for lack of a better term. The scan gauge says the engine RPM's are not changing nor does my tach. It will do it in both 3rd and 4th and might be worse when locked in 3rd. The engine and tranny have around 230K miles on them and the fluid in the tranny looks and smells fine and has around 20K miles on it with a 24qt mag hytec pan. Whenever it does this if I give it gas it stops, but when I am driving around 40mph in 4th it does it a lot since there is usually very little gas need to keep the truck moving at that speed in that gear. Acceleration is fine and it will also do this with the cruise on when going down hills and it may be worse when cold. Any ideas would be great.
Also if the truck coasts without hitting the gas at all it does NOT do it. To me it seems like the torque converter isn't transfering the power correctly under light throttle but I am not aq tranny specialist.
