Axle torque Spec???

Exclamation Axle torque Spec???

I have just reinstalled the rear axle in my 04 F-450 duallt dump 4x4 and was wondering if anyone knew what the torque spec. or where i could find it for the U-bolts that hols the axle to the leaf springs. thanks for any and all help.

The torque specs provided are incorrect for a '04 F-450 and we do not need anyones axle falling out. It is supposed to be 222 lb-ft...

You can find a copy of the service manual with all the needed torque specs at the following link...

u should go by the size of the u-bolts and do not reuse them...also retorque after 100 mi or so

I could not agree more. U-Bolts are TTY and should never be reused...

since your in new york i would use stenglebros...there in pa i think...get the right size and their website might have recommended torque values which i find closely resembles factory torque specs...i also apply a some oil to the threads...if u go through ford they most likely wont have the nuts and bolts in stock and will probably get raped
