I bought my Gennie wheels (15 x 8 in the rear) from Summit Racing. The two advantages are reasonable shipping and they will come powdercoat primed.

Early wheel in California made my wheels and I'm really pleased with them, 16x8 and 16x10 for rear, look them up on line and if you call them talk to Jason the owner, really a nice guy to deal with, Garry

I have 15 x 8 with 265-70-15 on the rear and 15 x 7 with 235-70-15 on the front. This is on a 49 F-1. The truck is in the process of being done so I have not driven it (since 1987). Unfortunately I do not have pix with the wheels installed and it is currently tucked away where a photo is not possible.
One comment that I would make is to consider going with 16 inch wheels. Yes, I know that they are a little more in $ than the 15" wheels. The selection of 15 " tires is shrinking. In retrospect I should have gone with 16 inch rims front and rear. I say that because the truck is a keeper. I have owned it since 1977! At least on the 49, 265 wide rubber is about all that comfortably fits in the stock rear wheel well. I wanted at least 3/4 " of clearance to both the bed sides and the fender arch. I have those clearances with some to spare but the 275 width would have been too wide to give me the clearances that I wanted. Measure VERY CAREFULLY to determine the offset to properly center the rim in the wheel opening. Then measure it again and probably one more time. If you mount rubber on the Summit rims you cannot exchange the rims for a different size/offset.

Thanks. I looked @ your gallery and seen the 53 car. I love it. What are those hubcabs that you are running on the front? Those are cool. Also the truck is looking great. One hint of advice on ordering wheels when you get them check the fit of the wheels to the truck before you paint them or mount tires on them. those sticker that read "you paint or mount them / you own them" are not a joke. I have a bright new red set in my shop thats the wrong bolt pattern with 0 miles on them. Good luck.

I agree with willard on going with 16" wheels. I'm in the wholesale tire business and there are fewer choices in 15" every year. Many new suv's come with 16 or 17" wheels, and there are lots of relatively tall all season sizes to choose from.

I choose smoothies due to the fact that they are totaly solid, they dont have the 4 small open slots between the center piece and the rim. this will help to keep brake dust off the hubcap area. I purchased them from Jegs for $ 468.00 complete with trim rings, hubcaps and free shipping.
