hello Everyone, Earlier this year I purchased brand new my '16 f 250 cab chassis, with 6.2, I ordered it with a lariat package also, so it has the 8 inch touch screen, no navigation, I have been trying to get a ford backup camera to work with the truck, and have been unsuccessful, Even the ford dealership said they cant help, Here's what I have done so Far, Installed a 10 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood for the backup camera, plugged the camera in the back factory wiring harness, bought a programmer from OBD genie to enable the camera, After I downloaded the genie, the touchscreen now recognizes something is happening when I put it in reverse, but an error message pops up and sais , Camera unavailable, please contact your dealership., and I also have no power to the plug at the back of the truck in the camera harness, Anybody have any thoughts of what to do next, Were all stumped on what to do next, I really want to integrate the touchscreen
I don't really have an answer, but I have a 2013 Taurus with a back up camera that has become permanently blurry (apparently a common problem). When I was checking it out online, it appears that if I buy a new Ford camera and install it myself, that the existing system would not recognize it until I took it to a dealer to have them reflash it (or whatever). Maybe that's all you need to do now that you have it installed.
