Seeing black Friday is coming up and it appears to be some good sales on laptops. I was thinking of getting one. I was wondering how Vista is behaving with AE.. I may get AE after Christmas for myself and i know squat about vista. Any problems with yours bacause i heard Vista is having issues with some programs?
What's the diff as far as AE goes? The bottleneck is with the AE software/hardware working with the OBD port more so than Vista IIANM, right? 64 bit would not improve a signal that I believe is already slower than what the machine can easily support X 1,000. If I am wrong, please school me.
Any 32/64 bit Bill Gates type questions might need to be directed to the AE web site support. Those folks know the ins and outs of their product.
I have a Macbook Pro running Vista. No problems at all with AE.
Curtis, are those Macs that seamless now? I have always been sold on that system, just the apps were so far behind. The day may be coming for me. It is a far superior system with so much less vendor support. Microsoft seems to have succeeded where Sony failed with the BetaMax. Too bad they did it by stealing software.

It was an easy switch, and installing Vista was a breeze. Apple provides all the software already installed on the computer to partition the hard drive for Windows (called Boot Camp), and has all the Windows drivers pre-loaded on the Leopard OSX disk that come with the computer. I can boot to either Leopard or Vista, and under Vista it runs just like any other PC.
After having this computer for a few months, I actually prefer running Leopard over Windows. But I like having Vista on hand for the ability to run programs that maybe aren't available for Mac, such as Autoenginuity.
Years ago I used to repair computers, and I hated Macs. They had all sorts of quirks and issues. Today's Macs are totally different. Apple has really come a long way, and in my opinion is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. I'm a huge Apple fan now with my laptop, iPhone, and iPod

I know the day is coming for me. IDK what problems you have seen with them aside from compatibility problems with PCs. They have always been far more stable than the PC. That may be because they are far less subject to hacking due to the lack of sheer #s of users. I guess a comparison of percentages would telll the true story. Who is going to hack into a system that few folks use? We have all seen the commercials. My Windows systems are still running fine.
My computer crashed last week. Blew the dust out and it is up and running now.
So hey, bottom line, you can run AE on a MAC with an emulator no problem. Get some.
Thanks for you input. I could order xp or just buy and load myself. But i think i want to move to vista to stay current with the times. I just heard some software don't like vista and has caused head acres. Folks wanting to go back to XP.. etc. I am just looking at all these different opererating system with Vista. Home Basic,Home premuim, etc.. There is alot of different loads.. XP was Home and Professional installs. It seems Vista there is more.. I was looking at a laptop i liked but said vista basic home idition sp1. Then i wondered about it working with AE and i should ask you guys first. Thanks
Bills are Pathedic... 1st to last.. Monday's game was great. 3 interceptions in the first quarter? Dang it.. Anyone looking to be a quarterback? Maybe the bills will hire you. Quarterbacks is what the bills have been struggling with the last bunch of years.
