I notice some water dripping off the bottom of my dash when I drive in the rain. I am sure there must be some holes in the cowl somewhere. The rest of the truck is in very good condition. How difficult is it to fix the cowl? Do I have to drill out a million spot welds to fix it?
There are access holes, but they are behind the finder, here is a pic, the lower red circle is where the clean out is, the others are access holes to the cowl area
I have already cleaned out everything from the vents inside the cab. I'll try the upper access hole. Water is dripping from the front side of the dash, just below the radio.
Another short-cut for cleaning out the cowl requires a little patience, but if you have access to an air compressor, you can blow most of the crap out (after it dries out).
When i replace the firewall in my 66 i found a rust hole one the drivers side just under the small pilot hole in the lip of the cowel were its spot welded to the fire wall. To clean mine out i used an air hose and blew as much as i could toward the upper access hole and stuck my shop vac hose in there to suck out the debris. Good Luck. Justin
