Well this is the second one to hit the dirt! don't know yet what happened internally but it is toast, no compression on 5 & 7, smoked like a freight train before it seized up, anyhow i bought a used E-450 engine out of a wrecked ambulance for a fair price with 46,000 original miles so it is going in tomorrow, needless to say i will have a few parts to sell off it if anyone is intrested, ie, Van turbo, injectors, hpop, wire harness, valve covers, pullys,ac, dual alternators, ect... if anyone is intrested... wish me luck that this one will last longer than 80k...
This is the second one you've blown? That's either a case of really bad luck, or there's something going on. What mods have you done to the truck? Do you have any gauges?
Sounds like it's worth pulling the head at least to see exactly what the problem is. How was compression on #8?
ya I got gauges, I am thinking bad luck, the first one the water pump took a crap and my employee driving it didnt notice the temp gauge burried past hot, and the ses light on? *******... anyhow #8 had 365#, mods are now listed in my sig. and ya i will pull the head after i get this one in and running...
..... and my employee driving it didnt notice the temp gauge burried past hot, and the ses light on? *******... ...
That is the most expensive mod, not to mention the worst one for your truck. I feel for you. I showed up to work this morning to be informed that someone had forgotten they had a trailer behind an 06 F250 when they backed up, and was shown the nice pretty dent and large gash in the rear fender.
The guy apologized repeatedly, and admitted it was entirely his fault. He said he would pay for the repairs if I would just take $50 per week out of his check. I graciously accepted his offer.
But in my experience, I wouldn't be putting a tuner in any truck driven by an employee. I've got more bad stories than good ones.

I always figured when I get a dp I would see if they could put an "employee" tune on it. Select the tune and pull the controller. It would be kind of funny to toss a guy the keys and he's thinking about rodding it around to only find out its a dog.

Perhaps we should start a company called de-tuner.
Sorry to hear about that, you can get a Valet mode from Jody to limit the vehicles speeds and RPMs, just set the truck up and hid the F5 switch .
