Right under your feet could also be radius arm bushings.

now i have a thump usually after start up whether i am moving or not.. what could that be?

As for the original poster i had a random thud for a while when i was truing hard.. it turned out it was my drag link stripping the threads on the collar it connects it together. just something to check.

The spring hangers are right below your feet. Maybe something's loose? Also like previous posters said check your ball joints. Raise the front off the ground and grab each front wheel/tire and try to wiggle it. If it moves its time for new ball joints.

replace the sway bar mount bushings this is what goes wrong all the time.if you un hook the links and grab a hold of the sway bar you should feel a little play in the bushing, it doesnt take much to make a ton of nopise. the dealer will need to know the size of the sway bar so they can order them they usually dont stock them.
