Well boys because of my lead foot and my front brakes sticking im gonna need to start lookin for some tires. i want to possibly go to a 315 or 305 tire. was lookin at bf goodrich mud terrain t/a tires but wanted to hear what yall run and like. and if i do go 315 or 305 how much will mpg be hurt?
IMO buying a M/T for a truck that sees an occasional dirt road is a waste.....Granted I have a 2WD(first 2WD I have ever owned)...The past 3 trucks I have owned I put Yokohama AT/s on them including this one.
Unless you have a leveling kit you will have a lot of rubbing with either of those sizes. Even with a leveling kit you may need to shim the bumper out. Mileage will depend on what size tires your are running now.
Well my cousin has a 500 acre dairy farm and i do work and go wheelin there and i go on a 1000 acre trail once in a while. but i do alot of traveling as well. so i'm looking for a good dependable tire on and off road but that will actually last a while and look good on my truck at the same time
and my dad has the Yokohama AT's on his truck and i wasnt to satisfied with them. maybe its because they are low range c's but they shimmy way to much when the get hot or sit
Ive alwaysed like the BFG AT. they were on my truck when I got it but were pretty bold so I had to get new one. I couldnt afford (well didnt want to spend that much money) on them so I got Cooper ATs. I know a guy with the BFG ATs on his jeep and they last forever, and another buddy with them on his 1500 and they last a good time too. I dont know how good they are on a truck our size though.
well i need load range d or e at least because when i tow i'm usually towin between 8 and 9000. and i haul fire wood for my friend. when i do this stuff the bed is always on the frame so i need somethin that will handle the abuse
We have BFG AT's on my dad's 00' F-250, they walk alot for the first 500 miles or so, A buddy of mine runs Toyo MT's 315/75/16 on his 97 F-350 4x4 for two years and they have very little wear on them, and he drives 12-15k miles a year. They dont look two years old, and when i get enough money i'm gonna get a set. but they are priced over $200 a tire.
I run BFG AT's exclusively. They are an awesome tire for all applications. I tow heavy with them. Drive alot of highway miles and they are great off road. Not recommended for super swamp mud bogging. Although they will hold their own on a good muddy trail. They clean out very easily with a good gap of the throttle. On a farm I believe they will do you fine.
I get excellent wear on them as well. I have heard that they changed the rubber compound in them and they now wear faster. I do not have any proof of that and mine are still lasting great. That is just what I heard somewhere. I WILL buy another set when I get ready for some tires. They are, IMO, well worth the money.
Also the BFG AT's have a tri-guard side wll. Most tires don't have that. I tow a 5th wheel around 14,000 lbs with them just fine with lots of tongue weight.
